Filling

After an anesthetic is applied, your tongue and lips will feel numb for a few hours. After the anesthetic has worn off, do not eat or drink hot beverages. You should be careful, as you could burn or bite your tongue.

Normal is the sensitivity to pressure, heat, and cold. It is possible for injection sites to become painful. To reduce the tenderness, you can use Tylenol or Ibuprofen. If your sensitivity persists for more than a few weeks, please contact our clinic.

You might be able to chew your composite fillings after the anesthetic has worn off. After the procedure, your sensitivity will persist for some time. It is not common to feel pain after a procedure. Please contact our clinic.
